Termite Inspections For Maryland & Delaware
At Delmarva Inspections Group, we find our fair share of termites. Subterranean termites are the biggest problem and are very active across both Delaware and Maryland. They can be seen swarming during warm days of rainfall and have been known to swarm in heated buildings during the winter months. Termites are active across the state in Wilmington, Middletown, Dover, and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. In these areas, they are considered moderate to heavy and require more control measures. At Delmarva Inspections Group, termite inspections are at the top of the list, we take significant steps to inspect for termites.

The Prevention Of Termites Is The Best Cure
It goes without saying when it comes to termites, "A pound of prevention is better than a pound of cure." The fact is, a homeowner can prevent termite problems. The first step in fighting off termites is to deny them moisture, food, and shelter.
What we can do to prevent termites:
- Give planter boxes and soil-filled porches a 2-inch clearance from your home, as well as a 2-inch clearance from your home.
- Eliminate all wood to soil contact such as door facings, fence posts, trellises, stair casings.
- Whenever possible, use masonry blocks or pressure-treated wood.
- Shrubbery needs to have a clear separation from the house, this will also make it easier to inspect the foundation.
- Seal any breaches in the foundations.
- Remove all wood piles, wood scraps, and tree stumps from around the foundation.
- Floor beams need to have a 12 to 18-inch clearance between floor beams and the soil underneath.
